Previous Work
Much of my work has involved helping organisations operate more effectively in environments where scrutiny is high, time is short and the quality of communication matters.
I have worked across healthcare, emergency services, representative bodies and Westminster, always with the same focus: helping organisations explain themselves clearly, engage the right people and act with purpose.
The examples below reflect some of the major organisations I have worked with and the kind of support I have provided.

National Hair & Beauty Federation
Building a policy and public affairs function within a national trade body
In my current role, I have led the development of a more structured policy and public affairs function within a national membership organisation, helping position policy, research and campaigning as a core part of the wider member offer.
This has involved building new governance, developing a clearer strategic framework, shaping advocacy activity and translating member concerns into practical policy positions. It has also included public commentary and updates on fast-moving issues, from tax and business rates to skills, employment costs and wider sector reform.
What this involved
- Building structure and governance
- Advising senior leadership on policy risk and strategic response
- Turning member priorities into evidence-led public affairs work
- Strengthening external messaging and stakeholder engagement

London Fire Brigade
Supporting senior leaders in a high-profile public service environment
At the London Fire Brigade, I supported senior leaders in a complex operational environment shaped by public scrutiny, political attention and sensitive stakeholder relationships.
The work involved advising on scrutiny, coordinating responses to consultations and formal questions, and supporting external positioning on major reputational issues. It required careful handling, sound judgement and the ability to work across policy, operations and leadership in a setting where the stakes were often high.
What this involved
- Senior stakeholder support
- Scrutiny and consultation responses
- Work on sensitive public-facing issues
- Coordination across teams under pressure
NHS Blood and Transplant & British Dental Association
Health policy, communications and parliamentary engagement
My work in health has included senior public affairs and communications roles where I worked across the NHS network, Westminster and the devolved governments.
At NHS Blood and Transplant, I worked in a healthcare setting where public trust, safety and clarity of communication were central to the work.
At the British Dental Association, I led public affairs activity across Westminster and the devolved institutions, helping translate sector concerns into credible policy asks and supporting engagement with ministers, parliamentarians and senior stakeholders.
Together, these roles gave me experience of working in politically sensitive health environments where accuracy, professionalism and strong relationships mattered.
What this involved
- Ministerial and Parliamentary engagement
- Health policy and communications support
- Communicating complex clinical and operational issues clearly
- Working in regulated and high-trust settings

Westminster and Parliament
Earlier in my career, I worked directly in and around Westminster, including supporting Parliamentary engagement for representative organisations and helping create Parliamentary platforms designed to bring sectors and decision-makers together.
This gave me a practical understanding of how Parliament works, what makes parliamentary engagement effective and how to turn policy priorities into structured programmes of activity. It also gave me an early grounding in the importance of preparation, political judgement and clear follow-through.
What this involved
- Parliamentary coordination
- Stakeholder management
- Political intelligence
- Turning ideas into usable engagement activity
